I’ve been doing a lot of swapping lately, and I am always looking for pretty envelopes to hold small buts of ephemera and embellishments. The envelopes need to be small enough to fit inside a larger package or envelope, but big enough to hold a bunch of small pieces. Here’s what up I came up with, and they worked so well I decided to share them, I know so many of us send RAKs and swaps ;)
About the Free Ephemera Envelopes
Each of these envelopes is in a single 8.5 s 11” sheet and is 600 dpi, so they will print out beautifully. Use them in your junk journal, as covers, backgrounds or for sending happy mail. Here’s a look at most of the set (I had already used a few before I took the photo, the download contains 10 different envelopes as shown in detail below).
Printing the Free Ephemera Envelopes
Here are closer looks at the envelopes, plus directions. This envelops is a vintage textile, it is a very faded but pretty cotton:
Dowmload the file and open the PDF. I printed and assembled all of them at once, then stored them so they were handy and ready to use.
If printed as is, these make an envelope that is 5.5” wide. You can adjust the size before printing, but not by a lot. Go too big and they won’t fit on a single page…too small and the details will be lost.
Making the Free Vintage Ephemera Envelopes
Print the pdf, you can make 1 or all 10. use 1 sheet if heavy cardstock for each.
Cut around the edges.
Each piece is shaped lime the one below.
Fold the sides in and crease with a bone folder.
Fold the bottom up and crease, then glue or tape in place. I use double stick tape, so it’s fast and easy.
Fold and crease the tops, but dont tape them. Store the finished set flat until you need them.
Here is a closer look at a few of the envelopes.
